ASTONISHING NEW WALKING BREAKS in the Brecon Beacons National Park

Brecon Beacons Based Kevin Walker Mountain Activities have just announced the launch of a new range of Astonishing Walking Breaks and Guided Walks.

Best known for his navigation courses, this year Kevin Walker is offering visitors the chance to join him on some superb walking in and around the Brecon Beacons National Park, not only to see the magnificent countryside, but also to learn something about the legends, history and heritage of this stunning region. What makes these walks truly astonishing is the legacy of human interest that unfolds before your eyes.

Encouraged by the success of his most recent book, Undiscovered Wales, Kevin has designed a series of four-day walking breaks, together with a guided walks programme which includes something for everyone. There are gentle strolls alongside a tranquil canal and fascinating forays through deep wooded gorges full of hidden waterfalls and rushing torrents. There are high-level mountain circuits around the central Brecon Beacons - the highest mountains in southern Britain - plus wild wanderings through the wilderness areas of the Carmarthen Fan. Alternatively, you could find yourself following forgotten tramroads offering tantalising glimpses of our recent past, or exploring more ancient sites where our Celtic ancestors once lived & loved, worked & played, fought & worshipped. There are even evening walks introducing people to stargazing and the delights of walking by moonlight.

The programme is very flexible. People already visiting the area can join just for the day, whilst those who wish to explore more thoroughly can come on a longer walking holiday. Although non-residential, the list of recommended accommodation includes everything from local campsites to luxury hotels.
